As U.S. Business Linkages Manager, I was responsible for researching opportunities for and facilitating the development of linkage opportunities. I coordinated closely with the relevant PSA staff in Azerbaijan and the U.S. and performed duties to meet the Project’s indicator targets. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, performing the specific duties and tasks described below: • Researching existing, planned, and potential demand for U.S. products, services, and technologies in the Azerbaijani market, understanding consumer requirements, and identifying market trends. Such efforts should include, but not be limited to, interfacing with local equipment and agricultural input providers with information about relevant U.S. inputs, promoting relevant dealerships for U.S. companies, and promoting sales of U.S. products through such Azerbaijani firms. • Meeting with large Azerbaijani importers in sectors such as food, textiles, machinery, pharmaceuticals, construction, software, etc., and offering CNFA’s deal-making and lobbying assistance to facilitate agreements with and imports from the U.S. • Based on the outcomes of the above research, interfacing with the Project’s Azerbaijan and U.S.-based staff to facilitate introductions between prospective business linkage partners in Azerbaijan and the U.S. and support their ongoing efforts to build trade relationships. • Identifying and implementing new trade deals and promotion methods. • Gathering, investigating, and summarizing market data and trends to draft reports and share lessons learned; and • Maintaining relationships with important leads by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new trade and marketing opportunities. • Export Promotion for Azerbaijani agricultural, food, and other related businesses. • Conducting training on the subject "Export readiness diagnostics, branding, and product strategy development" • Organizing the Trade Mission to the potential markets for Azerbaijani agricultural, food, and related businesses. • Supporting efforts to facilitate increased awareness of Azerbaijani products and services in potential export markets, such as through the organization of an Azerbaijan Pavilion at WOP Dubai, Anuga, Sial Paris, Fruit Logistica, and other exhibitions. • Support exporters in export deals
